miss getting new episodes of Murder, She Wrote every week, you should definitely check out the Bucket List mystery series Thank goodness Perona has given these senior sleuths long bucket lists, so we can hope for many adventures with them Donna Andrews, author of The Meg Langslow series This is an enjoyable and gently paced cosy mystery A group of seniors are trying to cross a number of items off their bucket lists which leads to them doing increasingly saucy or dangerous activities The ladies apparently gained the sobriquet of the skinny dipping grandmas in the previous book Now we see them setting up a photo shoot under a covered bridge on the day of a historical fair in town This photo is for a saucy calendar But a man is chased towards them through the cornfield, with This is an apparently gained the sobriquet of the skinny dipping grandmas in the previous book Now we see them setting up a photo shoot under a covered bridge on the day of a historical fair in town This photo is for a saucy calendar But a man is chased towards them through the cornfield, with shots being fired, and this leads to an investigation The man is owner of a nursing home and everyone in the area is related, or personally known to the police, giving a slightly claustrophobic feel Don t expect any car chases or surveillance cameras, but the lovely historical recreations, food stalls and busy cast of characters will keep you entertained and occupied The author is a father daughter team, and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the writing An ARC was provided to me and this is an unbiased review With the covered bridge festival under way, Charlotte has talked Francine and her husband into a photo shoot to help knock an item off Charlotte s bucket list However, when they are almost done, they hear gunshots and see a man run out of a field, slide down under the bridge, and collapse The man turns out to be Francine s cousin, and she begins poking around to find out what characters It s nice to have a group of 60 something women who are still full of life and pursuing their dreams The murder, while good, does take an interesting twist near the end, and I m very curious to see just how this factors in to later books in the series If you are looking for a fun, light cozy that isn t in the normal mold, this book is definitely for you.NOTE I received an ARC of review the book The opinions expressed are my own This is the second book in A Bucket List Mystery I did not read the first one and I would recommend to anyone starting this series, to read the first one before this one It took me a while to figure out all the characters, their relationships and the constant references to The Skinny Dipping Grandmas Once I got into the story, it was quite I did not read the first one and I would recommend to anyone starting this series, to read the first one before this one It took me a while to figure out all the characters, their relationships and the constant references to The Skinny Dipping Grandmas Once I got into the story, it was quite enjoyable. The group of ladies from the bridge club all have bucket lists with 60 things While fulfilling one of them, making a risque calendar, the group is shot at on the Rockbridge Covered Bridge After seeing a man tumble down the embankment and becoming unconcious, Jonathan, Francine s husband hold the man s head out of the rising creek so he will not drown When the police arrive, they question the ladies before letting them leave One of the group, Mary Ruth, is a caterer of pastries and is running a truck at the Covered Bridge Festival While trying to assist Mary Ruth, the group also tries to uncover the mystery of the injured man, the gunshots and the symbols on the bridge When arsons begin to occur around places the ladies have been, their investigation picks up I really like the relationships between these ladies They support each other, tease one another, help when help is needed and keep each other on their toes They are true friends that respect one another There was a little twist that I was not expecting at the end of the book which I am not sure whether I liked it or not and for that reason, I only gave this book 4 stars instead of 5 I am definitely going to find the first one in this series to read about what I missed A good read for cozy mystery lovers.I
