This is the second book of the Indecent series I m sure you could read it as a stand alone, but it does make reference to the events of the first book Plus, the first one was a better book So there s fixed Amber and Scott have known each other for years Amber is Scott s twin sister s best friend and they ve always hated each other So when Scott walks in on Amber having sex with a stranger in a disused corner of a hotel ballroom at Scott s sister s wedding, Amber thinks he s judging her for her overtly sexual behavior And seriously, Amber is a little out of control I m all for women getting as much sex as they want, whenever they want, with whomever they want But the thing about Amber is that even though she s enjoying the sex, it s pretty clear pretty early on that it isn t just for the joy of feeling good She s extremely pretty and doesn t really let anyone try to see past that, concerned that what they ll find won t be enough.Scott is smart, gorgeous, a little buttoned up on the surface and has a golden boy reputation Since this is a first person book, we never really find out much about what s going on in Scott s head and unlike in the first book, I kind of wanted his perspective We re left to surmise that he has really liked Amber for a really long time, but what seems unclear is why he s never acted on it Or why he chose judgey as his default mode of conversation with her for so long There s also an m m f threesome in this one, which I know some readers don t like so I ll just mention that here I was fine with it In fact, for screwy reasons that fans of Cara McKenna and Charlotte Stein will appreciate, it was the highlight of the book for me.But what made this book slightly less enjoyable than the last one was the ending, which was super abrupt view spoiler Amber fled Scott in tears not once, but twice toward the end of the book And when he finally caught up to her maybe 12 hours later, he proposed and she said yes Two pages later, we get a dirty wedding epilogue hide spoiler It just seemed a little fast and left me wondering if they really understood what they were both getting into I do have to say though, I really like Jane O Reilly s use of inner monologues A lot of authors use first person the same way they d use third person and give their characters lengthy thought processes, including many conjectures about how the other characters are thinking and feeling, between bits of dialogue O Reilly s narration is almost invisible, with character thoughts limited to nothan a few fleeting words Indeed, how people actually think things to themselves when they re in the middle of a conversation with someone else Long pauses are fine for introvert characters, but extroverts like Amber think out loud They re not going to have a huge amount of inner monologue and it was interesting to see an author make that work.I m really enjoying Jane O Reilly and will definitely pick upof her books, including the third of this series Fun, sexy and slightly quirky reads Review originally posted at Ramblings From This ChickI will admit that I went into this story with a dislike for the heroine We first meet Amber in the first short story into this story with a dislike for the heroine We first meet Amber in the first short story of this trilogy, Indecent Exposure I thought that she was pretty selfish and she seemed to be only concerned with her wants and needs I was really hoping that in Indecent Proposal we would get to see a different side of her I was glad to see that there wasto her than we had originally seen, but I still ended up with mixed feelings on this story These stories can be read as standalones since they contain interconnected characters but focus only on one couple at a time That being said though, I would highly recommend starting at the beginning because the reader really gets to see so muchdepth and insight when meeting them for the first time and seeing how they change.Amber is sexually adventurous, and has been trying to get over her broken heart She had been sleeping with her boss and thought that she was in love with him until he left her for another woman he was also sleeping with After almost ruining her friendship with her best friend, Amber decides to get over her hurt feelings and starts sleeping with not only her boss, but also his girlfriend However when the two of them decide to get married, Amber decides she is through She picks up a random guy at their wedding and ends up hooking up with him during the reception They get interrupted by Amber s best friend s brother Scott Scott and Amber have always fought and have never really interacted well, but there is no mistaking the attraction between them or the lust in Scott s eyes Amber and Scott begin to see each other in a completely different light, and they find themselves unable to stay away from each other But Scott is looking forthan a casual fling, and Amber is scared to let herself have anythingthan that Will Scott and Amber realize that they are perfect for each other, or will the continue to fight the growing feelings between them I liked Scott I thought that he was great for Amber and that he did a great job of helping her realize that she deservedthan what she had been settling for I did think that there was a bit too much hot and cold with him though One second he would be into her and they would be getting physical and the next second he couldn t get away fast enough I understand part of what he was experiencing and that he didn t want to just be about sex with her But even though he wanted , he went about it in the wrong way I thought Amber wasthan I had originally thought, and it was nice to see that she really did care about Ellie and that she was worried that she had screwed up the friendship by her actions It wasn t just Amber s fault though, and I think that if Ellie had beenupfront and honest with her that Amber might have acted completely different I liked seeing Amber open herself up to the possibility of a loving and steady relationship rather than continue with her casual flings I thought that Amber was really open minded, and I liked that she went after what she wanted She wasn t afraid to be who she was and I liked that I wish that she wouldn t have run so much though and would have let Scott in a bit sooner I think that if these two would have just communicated better, that everything would have been solved a lot quicker Amber and Scott were really hot together though, and I felt like they had a lot of chemistry I wish that there would have been a bit less of others involved though I think that although Lucas was very likable, that he sort of hurt the relationship between Scott and Amber a bit.I am really shocked just how much the short length of these stories hasn t been a factor for me though Jane O Reilly has done a wonderful job of telling a story that doesn t feel extremely rushed or incomplete with these short books, and that is really rare to me It isn t often that I feel like you can get all of that plus likable characters and a believable relationship out of such few pages, and yet Jane O Reilly has figured out a way to do it successfully I think that Scott and Amber really worked together, and I liked how well they seemed to fit I wish there had been a little less push and pull and a little less Lucas, but overall I thought that this was a good story I am enjoying this trilogy, and I can t wait to read Lucas s story next in Indecent Desires I look forward to readingfrom Jane O Reilly in the future, and I recommend that you check these books out if you are a fan of Erotica These entertaining and hot stories are a great way to spend a few hours ARC provided by Author The second in the Indecent Trilogy months A sexually adventurous woman, she has never been in many relationships her self esteem is low, and her use of sex as a weapon and a control aid doesn t allow for tender words Seeking to fill the empty spot, she sneaks off at the wedding to have a quick no nonsense tryst, and is surprised by Ellie s brother Scott The two have sniped at one another for years she thinks he s too uptight, he corrects and challenges her willingness to deal with men and situations that are littlethan time wasters Amber puts the moves on Scott, and sees that he isn t quite as buttoned down or uptight as she thought And when she brings a second man into their relationship, and Scott starts to direct him one night, Amber freaks out Her sexual proclivities have always had her with the upper hand, and she could use and discard at will But Scott is something different, and his perceived willingness to allow another man into their relationship sends her esteem into a tailspin Faremotionally charged and raw than the first book, Amber and Scott are always butting heads when they aren t in the middle of steamy hot monkey sex But Amber s emotions are far closer to the surface, and far less controlled than I even expected early in this book, and O Reilly s writing and pacing serve the emotional tension well Again we have a broken person in Amber, finding the potential of someone who will see her, and accept her unconditionally More inhibitions are lost, and readers will find that there is no lack of steam or emotion in this quick read I received an eBook copy from the author for purpose of honest review for The Jeep Diva I was not compensated for this review all conclusions are my own responsibility I wasn t as big a fan of book 2 as I was of book 1 I think it has to do with the heroine, Amber She has no idea what or who she wants Her feelings have these extreme ups and downs with no middle ground I will give Amber props for her sexual freedom She s forward thinking and bucks society telling her she s a slut because she sleeps around She enjoys sex and feels no shame in admitting that You go girl Scott and Amber together I don t know I didn t really get their relationship
