This is one hell of a confusing book For starters all the chapters are backwards though the story doesn t appear to be and the whole time I m reading I m trying to get my head around that to figure if this or that came after the otherWAY too much like hard work for sure.It s all a bit weird is the only way I can describe it I tried Splinter by him before and struggled with that as well I won t describe it I tried Splinter by him before and struggled with that as well I won t bother with any.The story states that a killer murders one parent leaving the other then needing to locate their child where they ll run out of air if they re not fast enough However, then the author writes that he removes the left eye of every corpseso if he s done this then they re clearly never going to reach them in time.alive in any case It s all too baffling It s 3.43 am and my mind is blown This is truly a masterpiece So the book starts with the last chapter and on page 439 Fitzek created a countdown in every possible way And it all makes sense You need to finish it and everything will fall into place I always had this feeling, this discomfort till the end I had a feeling about the murderer, but the end was just mind blowing I wish the story would continue, because right now my mind is totally f cked up. @Epub ½ Der Augensammler æ Er spielt das lteste Spiel der Welt Verstecken Er spielt es sehen zu k nnen Und gestern habe sie wom glich den Augensammler behandelt Toll This is obviously not the version I read it was the English one This was one of our free kindle downloads which looked quite good It was very good, quite gory in places but the story was very fast and it had a great twist in the end Thought the description of the blind girl was really good.Would recommend this one Jennie Wow I ll try to keep this spoiler free This is quite possibly one of the greatest books I ve read I did not see the finale coming whatsoever I m still in shock It completely blindsided me I loved the use of the first chapter being titled Epilogue and the countdown of chapters, followed by the last chapter Prologue Then another chapter entitled Chapter 1 , where the entire story begins again I never understood why the chapters counted down rather than up, but the last three chapters Wow I ll try to keep this spoiler free This is quite possibly one of the greatest books I ve read I of my confusion This is one of those mystery thriller books that you cannot put down If I could give itthan 5 stars I would.January 2018 edit Finished my reread today of Sebastian Fitzek s The Eye Collector Still just as gripping as when I first read it Sorely disappointed that the sequels are only released in German Nonetheless, I m not even sure if the sequels carry on from this book, it could go either way Definitely worth the read When I first read it, it was an immediate 5 star read Omg What a plot twist I can t believe this How could I ve been so blind D this was so intriguing And the ending What Why Pleas leave me alone for the next few weeks D The book starts with the last chapter and the chapters are numbered backwards like a countdown And it all makes sense by the end My biggest complaint with the book is that the main character is falsely accused as I have stated several times I do NOT like a plot where the main character is falsely accused it is like chalk on a blackboard to me That is why I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 my own personal quirk. However, as I gritted my teeth through those sections the story itself wa The book starts with the last chapter and the those sections the story itself was a great story A murderer, the main character, Zorbach is a journalist an ex policeman who is searching for the killer as part of his story and to make up for an incident in his past And I already stated Zorback is all of a sudden the prime suspect in a kidnapping case He gets a visit from a blind lady who has visions and seems to see the past. The ending was a surprise i had 2 chapters to go and thought uh wow, finally a happy end in a book by fitzek Nope No happy end, because of that smashing plot twist It s insane, i don t know why i keep obsessing over Fitzek and his books but i like it and i need it and this book was so different and great and another prove that this man needs to be crowned 5 out of 5 stars Der Augensammler English The eye liked the fact that the story was written from different points of view Fitzek s characters are vivid and persuasive He skips boring descriptions of locations and characters There s always action in his plot.Fitzek s plot is complex You have to think to understand it and in the end it doesn t turn out the way you expected I also liked that the Augensammler is not a foreign character, but one of the well known secondary characters one of the many I haven t expected moments while reading it.I recommend Der Augensammler to all fans of psychological thrillers
